Snowed In
The wind whistles softly through the pines as you climb the narrow path step by step with Seb. Your boots crunch on the frozen ground, and your breath forms little white clouds in the clear mountain air. You pull your jacket tighter around you, feeling the cold slowly creeping through the sleeves. Beside you, Seb trudges on silently, his brow slightly furrowed – not with worry, more with concentration.
Then, suddenly, you see it. Between the snow-covered rocks it appears: a small cabin, barely more than a dark spot in the white expanse, but clearly visible.
"There!" you call out, pointing ahead to the cabin where you plan to spend the night. Seb follows your gaze and nods with relief.
In that moment, it begins to snow. Tentatively at first, then more heavily – soft flakes dance through the air, settling gently on your hat, your shoulders, your gloves. The world around you becomes quieter, more muffled, as if the snow itself had swallowed all sound.
You reach the cabin. Outside it's snowing harder and harder, but continuing on today is not an option. Get something to eat first?
